INDIANA SKI COUNCIL BOYNE HIGHLAND SKI RACE & FUN WEEKEND

FEBRUARY 20-22, 2009 AGENDA & GUIDE (as of 1/24/09)

 

FRIDAY 2/20/09:

·         Check in at the Main Lodge is 5PM state you are with the ISC and provide name (I was able to check in earlier last year, so ask if you want an earlier check in)

·         In your packet you should receive a lift pass for both days, 2 breakfast cards and 1 banquet dinner card along with a key to your room

·         Your lift ticket can be used on Friday night 4:30 to 9:30PM

 

SATURDAY 2/21/09:

·         7:30 AM - Breakfast is served in the Main Lodge second floor  7:30-11:00AM

·         8:00 AM -Race registration your race chairman from your club should have pre-registered you with your name, age, and class and NASTAR number  Stan Mason will be at the entrance of the dinning room until 9AM to collect $5 per person for race fees.

·         The ISC race is a closed race to only those that have pre-registered and paid race fee.

·         10:00 AM Go to the NASTAR Hill on or before 10AM

o        The course is a dual Giant Slalom Course

o        Best time from colored gates will determine your position within class for that evening banquet awards.

o        Last year we were able to make more than 2 runs, which I expect will be available this year as well if things go smoothly.  Your best 2 times will be calculated regardless of how many runs you make.  At noon this course will be opened to the public for NASTAR.

4:00 PM Pool Party at Main Lodge Pool

  • ISC will provide Imported and Micro Brew Beer along with Box Wine & Pop.  Boyne Highlands does not allow glass or food in the pool area. They also require that any alcoholic beverages be placed on outside of the pool fence.  I will provide a path with snow boots so drinks can be shuttled.

 

7:00 PM Awards Banquet with Dinner at Champion Room (you will need to walk from the main lodge to get there it is on the ground floor)

  • A cash bar is available
  • Buffet menu will provide chicken, Lake Superior white fish, Pork Roast, Redskin Potatoes, Fresh Vegetables, Italian Pasta Bar, Salad Bar & Assorted Desserts.
  • Award ceremony will be held at approximately 8:30PM and conclude 10:00PM.

10:00 pm + There will be bands at the Main Lodge Bar on the first floor after our banquet for anyone wanting to continue the party.

 

SUNDAY 2/22/09:

·         Some skiers have gone to Boyne Mountain the next day for skiing (the same lift ticket you have for the Highlands is good for the Mountain as well)

·         For those wanting to remain at Highlands check out is 1:00PM.  A changing room is available (please contact front desk for directions and room number for ISC changing room).

·         Non-Alpine Skiers receive $48 reduction below proposed room rate

·         70 year and older ISC skiers will be given discounts through Boyne Awards please mention when checking in.
